<reviewbody>Well Well, the band had been cruising along with Welnick in the hotseat, and after a dud during the 15th, the boys reach back and bust out the show we were waiting for. I think that it was the Red Rooster when the fire was kindled, and it didn't die out till '92. Now we knew what the potential was for this line up. The second set was full of pleasent suprises and smoking versions. The Jam out of He's Gone, the Phil and Keys jam, was simply beautiful. Hornsby was iching to jam. D/S standing on the moon nice..but what was that??... a sick open jam into Miracle WHOA. And then the bomb...Morning Dew...WOW!! Phil crunches the ending buildup jam! The boys gave us something to behold, a day off, and then the next three night were legendary!!! Listen to this Audiance version, I'm sure it's OK, and then go buy the Dicks Picks that features this masterpiece. Thanks Archive!!!</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>i dont really rate first sets..im not a big Bob Queer fan..All the Killer Bob songs are Really Jerry songs because of the guitar(LL Rain,Samson,Estimated)The Pre-drums was average but the Post drums was the sheeeaaaaaaatttt!!!!!!standing>Miracle>Dew.Baby blue is the best post Drums you will hear in all of the nineties.i will rate this a 4.Yes,i would rather see JGB than this the dead crap with Phil and Bob queer
P.S.-I know this guy "Dire wolf2003".We were friends, until we all found out that he was arrested in 1997 In Gary,IND for feverishly masturbating in his filth strewn car in front of a pre-school.He is a registered sex offender and i can PROVE it.(e-mail me for proof). So please dont read or listen to anything he says.Hes a sick fuck.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Early 2nd set, Samson thru Drums is incredible. Iko is just Rippin'. Other than that I think this is a good show, but not really anything special. Recording is pretty good. I'll say 3.5 stars.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Wow, Tito better hope that he's right about the guy he was talking about, because that's what lawyers call per se defamation. Although Tito is probably a dickhead in real life, he's right about the post drums portion- really nice even for this seminal year. If Tito has some money (which is doubtful to me), I'd sue him. Unless those two are friends joking around, that's a pretty egregious act.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>hey dmilks and pat - tito was permanently banned from posting on this site - I (previously direwolf2003) was guilty of egging him on and subsequently apologized to the curators and ceased my childing activity. Tito wouldn't stop and got the denver boot.

<reviewbody>The dead pulled the SDB's. so what you wont find better audience tapes anywhere. Sometimes sdb are flat, spiritless, and aud's can have that certain warmth that really brings back that feeling of being at the show, Play it loud....
I love all of the MSG shows, Pure Garcia, Hornsby adds a touch of 70's, Vince being new at the time played his best. Sometimes not knowing a song is better. Peace to all
I'm glad that they let us have the audience recordings....</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>I ate a quarter sheet of what I thought was either fake or weak paper. It was neither.

Great show. Some dude flipped out in the upper deck (jerry's side). He jumped over a railing and fell 15-20 feet flat on his back. We all thought he was dead. Security started heading his way and somebody tapped him on the shoulder. He got up, glanced at the security guards and walked away.
My rating is based on the show (and the paper I suppose), not the quality of the recording.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>I have to admit this is damn good. You may want to EQ a little to accentuate the positive. Sometimes there is too much encroaching audience chatter and it is mildly, momentarily annoying.

All in all this was a GREAT show. The performance is juiced. Billy, Mickey, Brucey, Vinny, Bobby and Jerry are all solid. From a video I have seen of a few songs from this show it looked like they were having a real good time.

But the real star of this show is Phil. he is just ALL OVER IT. I don't think I have heard such a bass response on an audience tape before. He is spectacular. You can hear every nuance of his playing like the gurgle of how his fingers slide over the frets. Healy really had this show dialed-in P.A. wise. Phil had just begun to use an Aural Exciter device on his setup and he used it until the end of 1991. It is impressive. I never tire of this sound. I wish he still used the effect in his modern day ensemble.

Jerry's vocals are a tad low in Healy's mix. Vince has been chastised for going pedal to the metal, but it wasn't really his fault. He should have been lowered in the mix, but Healy wasn't paying attention. Vince gets annoyingly loud in certain places, but his playing is rather spirited.

The jams and space are something extraordinary. Jerry has wonderful moments with Vince and Bruce. Check out the stellar piano chording on Dew ~ it is otherworldly! Interesting moments with Bobby and with Phil with the keyboardists on various bits of dreamy space.

Every song is good. Even the drum solos are great. Stagger, Deal, SOTM, Dew ~ all great.

5 for performance, 4 for recording. I have to give it an overall 5. This is a very special and underrated show. If they'd played the Dark Star on this night it would have gotten all the raves as the best show of the run, but actually, all of the shows of this run are ones worthy of writing home about.

I always wonder why GDP picked this show for DP 9 since it doesn't get the kudos. But I think I know why. It is the exemplary show from that epic run. And, of course, this one is my favorite.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Yhis was My 1st show at the Knick. I remember a really relaxed and appreciative community around the Knick, TV crews and Kind Police outside. However our seats weren't great and up against a huge post that partally blocked view. OK- looking about I saw plenty of people in aisles dancing so thought I'ld do the same as we had end seats. No Luck- we got the ONE security person HELL_BENT on not letting anything go on the least bit not allowed. She chased us back to our seats many times and threatened to eject us. Fortunately security must have been shifted during the break, as we had no problems the second set.
Good show, pretty standard for the time. Seeing the Morning Dew it reminded me of my last GD concert, which was at the Knick-one of only a couple of summer inside shows. Anyway this resulted in my seeing/hearing the Last Morning Dew ever with Jerry there before the music stopped in '95. Bittersweet.
This is a well recorded show and the boys were pretty "On" that night. Show gets a 4 for recording and musicianship, 5 for the memories, 1 for the security woman during the 1st set.Fare Thee Well all. </reviewbody>
